Installation and available images

Arch is available as a normal EDIS template, including the documented 20250815 snapshot. Custom ISO is not required for that workflow.

  1. Choose a location and base VPS plan.
  2. Review the preselected OS version in checkout. You can later reinstall from the VPS image menu.
  3. Connect by SSH, apply updates and configure access, services and backups.

Choose your components

Use pacman and the packages your services require. Keep the system focused and review third-party build scripts before trusting them.

Rolling updates

Arch follows a rolling release model rather than fixed LTS versions. Read project announcements and schedule full system updates with a recovery plan.

Assess the operational fit

Current packages are useful for development and specialized services. Debian Stable or Ubuntu LTS may fit better when a fixed release baseline matters more.

Questions before you choose

Do I need to upload an Arch ISO?

No. EDIS documents an Arch template (Arch Linux 20250815). Custom ISO remains a separate option when you need a different installation layout.

Does Arch have an LTS version like Ubuntu?

Arch uses rolling updates rather than fixed distribution releases with an LTS lifecycle. An installation snapshot date does not change that model.

Is Arch the best choice for every server?

No. Choose it when its flexibility and update model fit your skills and workload; consider Debian or Ubuntu for a more fixed release baseline.

Who manages the operating system?

EDIS operates the host infrastructure and platform. You administer the guest OS, software, firewall, updates, application security and backups. These are self-managed VPS plans.

Can I configure more RAM or storage?

The listed plans keep their original base specification and price. At checkout you can add up to 24 GB RAM and 400 GB drive capacity for an additional charge. Maximum totals are calculated from each plan’s included resources. An existing server needs a restart for RAM changes and filesystem expansion after a disk upgrade.
