Installation and available images

Debian 13 (Trixie) is the current Stable release and is listed by EDIS. Debian 12 (Bookworm) is also available as an older release.

  1. Choose a location and base VPS plan.
  2. Review the preselected OS version in checkout. You can later reinstall from the VPS image menu.
  3. Connect by SSH, apply updates and configure access, services and backups.

Debian Stable prioritizes a consistent release. Test application requirements against its package versions before adding external repositories.

Keep the base small

Install only required services and leave memory for the kernel, cache and background tasks. A minimal OS still needs monitoring and updates.

Use Debian for web, database or container services. Size around the combined working set and keep recoverable backups outside the VM.

Questions before you choose

Which Debian release can I install?

EDIS lists Debian 13 (Trixie) and Debian 12 (Bookworm). Debian 13 is the current Stable choice; verify the selected image during checkout.

Is Debian suitable for production?

Its stable release model can suit long-lived services. Reliability still depends on your application, patching, monitoring, backup and recovery practices.

Can I keep a lightweight installation?

Yes. Add only the packages and services you need, and compare actual memory use before choosing the base plan.

Who manages the operating system?

EDIS operates the host infrastructure and platform. You administer the guest OS, software, firewall, updates, application security and backups. These are self-managed VPS plans.

Can I configure more RAM or storage?

The listed plans keep their original base specification and price. At checkout you can add up to 24 GB RAM and 400 GB drive capacity for an additional charge. Maximum totals are calculated from each plan’s included resources. An existing server needs a restart for RAM changes and filesystem expansion after a disk upgrade.
